Updating first generation iphone

I'm noticing from the i OS 6 page on the Apple website that the i Pad 1 isn't supported.

I'm assuming that this means, amongst other things, no more security updates.

Don't disconnect or unplug your Apple TV until the update completes.

The first-generation i Pad Mini (stylized and marketed as i Pad mini) is a mini tablet computer designed, developed, and marketed by Apple Inc.

They did discontinue the support so I reckon it is not possible without jailbreaking. The A4 chip is slow, and would be comparable to a $35 android tablet these days. Even if you manage to manually install the software it probably won't even turn on without crashing. Almost everything will be unsupported on your i Pad. There are loads of "m." sites still around, perhaps give them a try! Facebook's the same, I don't do instagram, so can't suggest anything there! On your computer, get on i Tunes and connect your i Pad. The app will be a little outdated but they all work just fine for me Note that this will only work if for your app of choice, there is an i OS5-compatible version available, which is really not always the case.

My warranty's long gone and you can literally install NONE of the most important apps for me personally (Adobe Reader, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc.) so I was wondering if there is anyway in updating the device. However, this is not Apple's fault because it is up to the developer to make sure the app is compatible with i OS5.

What I plan on doing with my i Pad now is jailbreaking it.
